No, his reciept for the saw showed a new container, 6 pack of oil.
The saw was brought in in Oct., so the fuel was @ 8 months old, bought in
Feb, it was chock full of winter additives, you could smell the bad fuel
across a large room. After talking with this guy, and working on his 031
he brought in for new points, this guy was sincere and took good care of
his saws. His 031 looked great. He used a different jug for his 031, using
a 32:1 ratio

Wow, that really sucks. But, as a point to my argument, the fuel smelled awful, so he shouldn't have run it.

I say to customers all the time - "here, smell this" (fuel), and they look at my like I'm wacky (shhhh!) and say what's wrong with that?" .....

Fish can explain my point;)

I don't care if its 2 months old or 1 year old if it smells OK,
Dad will use it, Stihl oil is the only mix he will use. He dose
keep his fuel can clean and keeps it in the shop on a shelf.
Dad never has any fuel problems. I have never let any go
for a year but have used some milling mix (40:1) that was
6 or 7 months old, smelt and looked good and its 45 min.
round trip to get fuel, as I was out at the time. Used the
3 gal or so of the stuff never had any problems.
