I have been "lurking" for a while and wanted to become a member. Seems like I found a new way to spend rain days (when not working on broken down equipment!)

Welcome. I would like to retire to eastern Kentucky but my wife wants to go to a state with warmer weather. I consider Ol' Kentuck a red state so it's still on my radar.

Pretty place to live, hard place to make a living. I would say it would be a great place to retire to. Land is cheap, land with marketable timber is also fairly cheap. (what timber is left, the tornados of late were kinda hard on it. Working on a salvage blowdown site now.......not my favorite!)
