I'd say it's obvious why you have low compression. That ring is toast and you have some cleaning on that cylinder to do before you put a new slug and ring in. What are you using for oil and how much? How clean is your air filter. I'd hate to see anyone put this effort into a saw and repeat the issue from human error.
 
She had some serious blowby aND needs a new ring and slug at a minimum.

Air leak or lack of fuel overheated the piston, stuck the ring, scored the piston. I'll just threaten it a little with a big hammer. Maybe bring out the whips and chains. It won't take much to straighten that pup right up!:laughing::yes:
