husqvarna serial number help?

I recently purchased a Husqvarna for the collection , its either a 281 or a 288xp ? and I was hoping someone could shed some light via the serial number which is 0490089 Unfortunately the last digit of the model number on the plate has been bashed and is thus illegible. the first numbers are 28? it does have a 288xp starter cover and top cover which appear original to the saw, but one can never be 100% sure.

that would be 1990, week 49, 89th unit that week. just measure the bore, 52 mm = 281, 54 mm 288
