I know some saws are better at certain tasks. Any input on slabbing. Ripping only. What is the best setup? I do not have a saw yet but am thinking of a Husky 445E 18” with a Boardmaster from Hudson Forest Equipment. http://www.hud-son.com/includes/webboardmaster resized format picture.jpg
I am retired. I have no (few) tools at this time. My aim is to make cants and swap them for more exotic wood as I do wish to do some furniture making when the tools are purchased. I have several damaged Black Walnut trees promised to me and the back of my pick-up is loaded right now with 7” to 10”
Black Walnut. (center portion) I have about a week to slab a B. Walnut that is already down or I will lose it. I am ready to buy but will wait a day or two for your expert input. Is the set-up mentioned above adequate?
