I have searched the Internet and consulted 2 folks with Forestry Degrees with no luck. I have replanted a cut over. My question is in the early growth stage of Loblolly Pines, how deep is the tap root in comparison to the height of the tree. Not that it changes anything, but I am curious as to when the tap root will reach the water table which normally runs about 3 feet below the surface in this location.
