My oil cap is leaking enough so that I have to store the saw on it's side. I just bought a new cap on Ebay. I notice the caps are tethered inside the oil tank. Just thought I'd ask for a little help on removing the old and installing the new. What holds the tether in place inside the tank and how do you loosen and remove it??

Thanks

The teather is held in place by a small ball at the end of it. The ball seats in a slot by the side of the opening. Push down on the teather and the ball will pop out. Feed the new ball at the end of the new teather into the slot and pull up on it to seat the new teather in place, and you are good to go.

stihl ms250

I had problems with the oil cap on the ms250 as well, the dealer said its common
for these things as well as the fuel caps falling off as well. It was too late when I noticed and the resivoir was full of sawdust on my brand new saw.
The dealer fixed it, then the saw would not oil, an occuring problem.
I have to clean the saw every time Use it. The ms250 is a very nice little saw.
I have no other complaints, the power on this 45cc is above the rest.
I have used them all, nice little sweet spot around 9k.
