well see how bad it is. my 262 was pretty damn grungy when i got it.
Sometimes that crud isn't a bad thing. That oil and sawdust can protect the finish of parts underneath. Besides, to me, it's like opening a gift a second time. First you take it out of the box. Then you get to remove the covering of crud to see what you've really got!! I think it's one of the most exciting parts of reviving an old saw.
