Question About Stihl 028 Bore

How many bore diameters did they make? Just 44 MM and 46 MM ? I have an 028 AV that a man wants rebuilt cheap. I can probably find a used piston cheap. If I rebuild it to a Super you are looking at $169 for aftermarket and it's a cosmetic dog. Seems like I read somewhere that they also made a 42 MM and I don't want to get mixed up. Thanks

You be correct, 44 and 46. Stihl numbers are 1118-020-1201 for the 44mm
1118-020-1203 for the 46mm. The IPL doesn't list a 42mm..

They made a 42mm but it's probably discontinued.
