Anyone else who uses these roller guides have a problem with the rollers wearing down?

I think my problem is from wig-waging the handle of the file and wearing the plastic cover down. I did a temp. fix by rapping the roller in scotch tape. Yea, it raising the other part of the roller but I figure the groove is where the file normally rides and now it's raised back up.

Permanent fix is to buy a new one.

File is just fine. Those rollers have a soft, plastic like cover on them and they just wear too quickly for my liking.

Yeah I use that on my chains and really like the way it works, but those rollers do wear down over time. I'm sure I don't cut wood or sharpen nearly as much as many of you, so I simply buy a new one maybe once a year. I figure that by the time I have worn the rollers down it's also time to replace the files, so I just buy the kit at Lowe's for about $14. I think that's reasonable for what you get. Later!
