I have a Stihl 031AV chainsaw in need of a coil and condensor. The part number for the coil is - 1113-400-1300 and the part number for the condensor is - 1113-404-3400.
Can it be changed to an electronic ignition? If so, what electronic coil do I use?

The problem with the ignition modules on saws is where to put
them. I am not sure that finding an electronic ignition coil from
a newer 031 will fit on an older one and work. As a matter of
fact, I am not sure there were any electronic 031s, but my mind
is addled. Do you need points and condenser, or a new coil,
or just not sure?

Fish, I know that this saw needs a coil and points and condensor. The coil is definitely bad and why put in a coil and use the old points and condensor? Do you have them or know of anyone that does?

Sorry for not being clear, I don't remember seeing a "electronic"
ignition coil made for an 031, but I may be wrong. A conversion
kit is available but it uses the original coil and eliminates the
need for points and condenser. Aftermarket ignition modules
perform the same function as the conversion kit but rarely fit
anywhere convenient on an 031. Since I don't think that an
electronic coil was made for this saw, you have no choice but
to replace it with a points type coil and either use points and
condenser or the kit{module}. I was mainly curious as to why
you were so sure your coil was bad and needed replaced.
I would hate for you to waste a fortune on a new coil if you did
not need one.

I apologize for any confusion from my previous post
