We had a big storm come through my area about 2 months ago, i am still cleaning up downed trees but here are a few of my treasures so far:
Mostly all locust, some of which is 70' long and pretty straight, ranging anywhere from 9"-16" or so at the base:
All Poplar, 10-21" 10-17' long:
Mostly White Oak, with a Pin Oak:
Biggest oak and about 12' long, I wanted to get it out in a longer length, but the 2 hills I had to go up wouldn't allow my 50 hp tractor to get it done.
On top of that (that I don't yet have pictures of) I have a maple in the 17' range about 18" dbh, a few cedars 9nothing big but lumber-able), and some nice Walnut logs. This fall I am going to make Typhoon's (AS member) Norwood lumbermate cry! Aside from the locust trees I have had to fell only 4 trees standing or slightly leaning and had 5 rootballs the size of my truck plop right back in their holes.
