Need to get some 14" loops as the orchard will be calling soon. Have always used stihl 63 PM picco/lo pro.

Have been happy and run stihl chain on all my other saws.

What is consensus on 63 PS chisel? Woodland semi-chisel lo pro? Pretty big price difference.

These saws will be used pruning orchards, maybe once a year on a pack in ice fishing trip.

Thoughts?

I find the PS3 or non bumper PS the staying sharpest, lasting longest of the present available chain from all the manufactures

I have used PM, PS, & PS3. PS is much faster than PM. PS3 cuts the same as PS but may be a pain later on when rakers need to be done, but I don't know this for sure, because I put my PS3 aside when PS became available. Good stuff!!

Woodland pro is rebranded Carlton N1. Stihl PS is high performance full chisel chain that is faster than all others mentioned but it will catch on your pants/sleeves and is not so good is dirty abraisive conditions. PM is great chain but pricey, VXL oregon has nice long cutters which is great value and cuts pretty good. If I was you I would get the woodland pro (N1 Carlton) mainly due to its price, good length cutter and filed correct it perfoms well.
