I have a 60-80 ft. Hackberry with a serious crack in the crotch of the tree. I called an Arborist who cabled the tree branches above the crack and haphazardly sprayed expanding foam in the crack. I say haphazardly because the tree crack is far from water tight. This doesn't seem to me to be the appropriate product. If it is I need to apply more in areas he missed. Could someone tell me if this is the appropriate treatment before I continue.

Thanks,
Mike

Seems to me a brace bolt and a cable with a little pruning would be more appropriate. Maybe you should get another arborist's opinion before going further. Foam won't help the situation. Try to post some pics if you can.
