Two Handed sharpening in the woodlot

Do the stump vises work at all? I would like to weld or fab. something that can clamp the bars and hold them to sharpen correctly.Being a Southpaw, it seems I do everything but get a sharp chain. Please throw your.002 in. Thanks.

As long as you have a place to tap them in they work good.

I get a better field dress on a chain when I use mine.

i use a stumpvise all the time they work really good. the bigger the stump the better.

The bigger stump vise works great, the smaller ones are OK and handier.

If ya hate forgetting them all the time, just bore into a log a bit at a 45 degree angle and have at it.
