Hi
I'm a UK-based consultant/contractor dealing mainly in development site work, municipal relations, hazard tree assessment and strategic tree management. I'm looking for a permanent move back to Canada after 10 years here in Wales. Anywhere in BC would be great. I still have a Canadian passport and SIN number. Pretty dry for my first post here, I know. I do have a sense of humour and what have you. Honest.

Hi Scott, welcome, lots of work here in B.C., generally speaking if you have a pulse you'll get a job. Can't really speak to the consluting end of things, municipalities are under a lot of pressure to keep trees, thats for sure. Often when trees get cut, it hits the fan, legal removal with all the permits even, seems to be ok for land to get cleared and trees cut down for some, but not others. Cheers.

Thanks for the welcome, Clearance. Sounds very encouraging. Maybe the best thing to do is to pop out there for a couple of weeks and have a look around. All the best.

Just thought I'd add some more information about myself: I have the UK range of operational forestry and arboriculture certificates, certificates for electrical arboriculture and have been working in arb and forestry for 10 years here in the UK. I'm a FSC forest auditor and I have fairly extensive woodland management experience. I've been acting as a consulting arboriculturist for around 6 years and have worked for housebuilding firms, local government and NGO groups. In terms of qualifications, I have an MSc in Environmental Forestry (urban forest managment specialism) which I gained in 2001. If anyone would like a copy of my resume, by all means get in touch and I'll send it, along with some examples of my work. Cheers.
