I am normally just a firewood guy, but I have a few logs that i feel are to good to be just firewood, so i am going to build a csm. I am not going to be milling for my use, I am milling to sell or barter. what size is commonly sought after so i know what size i should mill the wood into?

Yep, I'd suggest 5/4 (1-1/4") thickness for the majority of the pieces. This allows for some shrinkage as it dries, and also for further machining once it's dry to get it flat and square. I always cut at least 1/4" thicker than the finished size, if not more depending on how green the tree is etc. If the logs are really nice you might want to cut some a bit thicker, up to 2" maybe, for use as tabletops and the like. As for width, standard 4" - 6" - 8" increments are probably the easiest. Allow about 1/2" for shrinkage/machining.
