Homelite XL-12 run semi-cut
|
|
Description
|
Thanks to Todd from East Greenbush. This is the classic Homelite XL-12 that was copied by so many others.
It'll pump out 54cc's, equal to that of a modern day firewood saw and weighs about the same. Homelite made the XL-12's in two colors. Blue and Red. The saws where first produced in blue. Later the color was changed to red therefor this saw I estimate to be from the 70s.
Sadly the chain is dull. However if you watch you'll hear the bark fly off the wood as the chain rips it off.
Todd, incase your wondering about the blue pull cover, the red one needs a new rope and spring. So until I've replaced those, this blue cover from an older XL-12 will have to do.
Still needs some fine adjustments. And if anyone can help with why the saw is popping, please do so.
Once the chain is sharpened and adjustments made to the carb I'll be putting up a second video. |

| Yes this saw has since received a new chain on it and cuts like a dream. Used it the other day to clear limbs from the ice storm. I've got several other videos up on Youtube of the old Homelites. |
