1990 Husqvarna 242 for sale. Very nice little saw, everybody knows the pedigree of the 242... 15,500rpm 3.1Hp 10.3lb pro-model best-in-class power to weight ratio. These saws are rare and don't come for sale very often depending on your region. $350 + shipping
I have painstakingly devoted many hours and much elbow grease to cleaning and prepping this saw, as is represented by a couple of the photographs. List of new OEM replaced parts include:
-oil suction hose
-oil feed hose
-fuel line & filter (updated to curley with use of Stihl grommet)
-muffler gasket
-bar guides
-chain sproket (.325 7T)
-chain catcher
-carb rebuilt with K22 kit
Bearings are good, seals are good. While I had the saw dismantled I took the liberty to re-seal the 6 bolts which penetrate the crankcase (3 at the generator flange *note* this is a non-G model, and 3 for the oil pump). As per image 153psi compression. If it didn't need replacing I didn't R&R it, however I have a ample supply of used 242 parts so anything that wasn't perfect got replaced with a perfect equivalent. I think the saw speaks for itself and yes it is used and shows signs of wear accordingly but this 242 would make an excellent addition to anyone's collection.

I realize I'm a fairly newb member here and that That might make some of you weary as a seller... I get it.. All I can say is that I'm a respectable honest fellow and I am worthy of being trusted. If you wished I could provide my eBay username as a cross-reference. In the interest of full disclosure I live in Leduc, Alberta (Canada), therefor shipping rates won't be the cheapy-cheap options you Americans are used to. Again I know this may dissuade many a buyer but unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it, and I certainly encourage a Canadian sale (list price is USD). Additionally the saw is not being sold with the Oregon bar or felling spikes as pictured. I have more images of my rebuild which I am happy to share on a individual basis, and I can provide further details as required. Cheers and thanks for looking,
-Rob
