Anybody know what coil/ignitions interchange with which saws?

I know this is a pretty general question. So if you can help out with the stihl models that I have that will be a help.

I might get to have at a "junk pile" soon.

That's a huge question you're asking. Just on the 064/066/MS650/MS660 saws alone there's 11 different flywheel/ignition module combinations. Luckily they kept it simple on the 044/440 and almost simple on the 046/460.

I realize the maze of systems that were installed on the 066/660 and the Bosch/SEM ignitions for the 056 (I believe the SEM also came on a cutoff saw).

Anyone know about the 028, 036, 038 saws?

Those are simple - all use the 0000 400 1300. A few early versions differed but the FW is the same.

I never tried - usually gone the other way and dumped dead units for 0000-400-1300. In theory.. they should work.
