Looks like that old Fordson Major Diesel (if I'm not mistaken) has earned its keep.
Might have met a few of those big logs a time or two.

Thats pritty cool. . .Thats definitely a chunk of oak. got some metal in there where that blue spot is.

Looks like ash to me. Why would u cut down the middle like that? Seems like it would have been alot easier to have cut rounds and move them with the tractor. (JMO)

Age

So realistically... How old ya'll think that tree was??? I've cut some hard maples, NO JOKE at all, I got to over 300 rings and kinda lost count. Can you imagine??? Civil war, the founding of america, hell, discovery and all that. It's gotta kinda make you feel a little bad when something that old goes... History and all...

Great saw, and a decent vid... but that is one sick (as in needs a tune up) runnin' 090... :)

Prolly runnin' 25:1 in the thing as it's foggin' for mosquitos the entire time its runnin'. Not sayin' it should cut all that much faster... but it will sound better, and cut better.

Dude, you changed your pic... hehehehehe I'd change mine if I didn't like looking at the wife so much or could get her in the sauce again to pose... We need that much smoke in the summer when we cut here because of the skeeters. I still can't believe that tree. That's a monster. Every video I've seen of the 090 seems to cut slow, but they never stop. Did they actually ever run fast I wonder???

I'll be coming out west soon. When I do, YOU my friend are one of the dudes I'm looking up on my trip to visit friends in OR... I'm expecting one of those owls you talked about... heheheheh

If you head up here into Northwestern WA State... give me a holler! :)

The 090's never were fast... the 090G was even slower. But they are damn near unstoppable. That is a big honkin' tree... :)
