Am I crazy??:dizzy:

I have two Friends with homes in foreclose as we speak just because they don't understand the value of money.

Your NOT crazy, but I must warn you, you are in the minority! I take that back, today there is no catagory to put you in, if your young & white. It's sad, but if you really want to get ahead these days, learn chinese!:censored:

I'm a custodian for 9th graders, they canot even spell sware words right in the stalls! And they think school is boring and a waste of time...

Keep it up, you will have a good future and welcome to the club! CAD is not contagious but spreads very, very fast!

BTW, what year is your fj40?
The wife wants one, I'm thinking 76' and up. Is that the first year of disc brakes?

So, I am a senior in high school and plan to go to Virgina Tech after a year of community college. There I plan on getting a degree in industrial forestry opperations.

Today I came back to school after a week of spring break and everyone asked me what i did. I proceeded to tell them I modded my chain saw, cut a few trees down, sharpened some chains, and bidded on a tree removal/climbing job.

They just look at me and laugh. Untill I tell them how much i priced out the climbing job. haha

Nope, not strange at all. I'm a super senior at MSU. I'm frequently introduced as 'the chainsaw guy.' It's usually a good conversation starter.

I live in an apartment, so I don't have a garage or basement to keep my saws in. I would just leave 'em at home, but it's too tempting for family members to play with 'em. Look for PlantBio's BIL story and you'll further understand why may saws stay with me. I think the thread was titled 'Destroyed Jonsereds 810, I'll buy you a new one.'

The saws sit on a shelf above my couch in the living room. There are usually saw parts laying on the kitchen table. I've got nails in the walls that I hang my chains from. Some people think it's cool, some think it's a little weird, and others think it's downright creepy. Those are the ones you don't want to associate yourself with anyways.

It's a hobby. It shouldn't be viewed any differently than collecting baseball cards or building model airplanes.

I knew I had found a keeper when my current girlfriend walked into my apartment after our first date. She saw the saws and said, "Oh my God! That's awesome! Can I come with you the next time you use 'em?"

What date is the wedding planned for? :)

FJ and Bropwnpot, you guys are way ahead of the game! I spent many years as a teacher, principal and then school superintendent, and I saw a lot of students come and go in that time. The most important quality for a young person in this world is the will to work and the willingness to learn. Obviously you two are already far ahead of the pack in having those traits.

Bottom line: with such great work ethics you will be successful in life, no matter what you do. And you will be healthy, well-adjusted people as well. THAT is the key to success in life, not the amount of money and toys you might pile up. Go for it and get it done! We are proud of you!

I agree olyeller. There are none as dim as those that WILL not learn. I have found in life that a person with realworld experience and just plain common sense is way ahead of some one who has just book learnin. Now you combine the education with a person that can understand how things actually work and approaches life with good plain common (somehow not so common these days) sense then you have the formular for success in any endevor that they choose. Also by trying a number of things when you are young you will have the chance to decide what you really want to do. A teacher told me once " The experience of finding what you don't want to do is just as valuable as the experience for finding what you do want to do."

Anyway the best of luck to you young guys!!! I'm sure that there are not many kids in your class that have even run a powersaw!! Let alone do mods!!!

P.S. olyeller what is that yella thing in your avitar??? Think I can tell but not sure.

That's a 2008 Honda CBR1000RR. Truly a fantastic sport bike. I put thousands of miles on a 2007 1000RR, and there's just no going back after you ride this new version.

Well, that's not what I thought. A friend has a cbr900 I think. He said it went real good so the 1000 must go just that much better!!!!

I couldn't tell from the avitar but I thought perhaps yellow 999 Ducati.

I have a 916sp Ducati and that sticks to the road pretty well, at least the rear tire!!!

Didn' mean to hijack the thread sorry guys I just had to know!!!

Hoss, now you have triggered my interest...who the h@ll is Britney....:monkey::hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

She's an on going public study of what happens when a person with no brains and little talent who sidelines as a pop singer starts to believe their own press then involves children in the mess just before they let the public check them out from a gynocologists point of view.

Naaa... Weird and crazy? We all are tiny bit looney if youve have CAD. I work with teens part time. I am slowly infecting some with CAD. Gearheads are gearheads no matter what! I would guess that all of us love to tinker with all types of machines and what not. If it makes noise , smokes and moves. I tinker with it and have fun like alittle kid. :)

Everybody laughed at me when we were all 18, and everybody else was buying their first car, and I bought a backhoe. Now they call me up needing work done. So basically, they all saved to buy their first cars, then they all chipped in to buy me my first truck. Jokes on them. It doesn't make you the strange one, it makes you the smart one.

Sounds like a constructive week off. While the other students mooched about wondering whether to be a brain surgeon or an astronaught(sp?) nether of which were realistic so they settled on a week of `self abuse`, drinking cheap beer and sleeping.
Whereas you sorted your act out, decided on your career path and have made things happen.
In ten years time they`ll have a beer gut, first heart bypass behind them, wondering where it all went wrong.

I think it to be in poor taste picking on the mentally ill like Spears. If there is any question as to whether she's mentally ill, consider that 3 lawyers in a row got rid of her as a client. Any time a lawyer gets rid of a rich client, you know there's something wrong.

What girl wouldn't go crazy? I think the paparazzi running around measuring the growth of her @$$ with high tech computerized equipment pushed her over the edge long ago.

Ya, there was a time when she said it would cost a few mill to get to know her better. Now i think a couple of beers would get you in the saddle.
