371 XP vs 372 XP

Performance wise no.

Side chain adjuster.
Tank vent.
Brake handle.
Top cover.
Starter housing.
Fuel/oil caps.
Air filter cover clips.
Later 372's have limiter caps.
371's had the black/non limiting ignition module.

If you come across a good 371, don't pass it up.
 
The 371xp I have been working on has 2 rings I believe.

In the hands, you can't tell the two apart.

There aren't many prestine 371's surviving, if you had one instead of a 372 it would set you apart from the masses....you'd be the kool kid on the block!

My 1998 371XP had 2 rings when I got it but I think the cylinder and piston were replaced.When I had it ported I replaced the 2 ring piston with a 1 ring aftermarket piston.If you think a stock 371/372 cuts nice get one ported:jawdrop:

A 372 I pulled out of the box this week.

Later 371's had 2 rings from memory. It was en EPA thing.

The crankshaft brgs are all the same.
