it seems that yellow locust has 9% more heat than maple per pound. and black locust is 15% more than maple.i have a chance to get as much as i want,over the next few months.it is very heavy wood,splits easy. red oak and ash are the same in heat value.kenny

Best firewood ever! It can sit for years and not rot away,grab all you can and stockpile it! I set all my locust in separate piles,log length,its my insurance policy,if i ever run low,it will be there,and if i never need fence posts or lumber that will withsatnd the elements,and water...its there.
