Bob, I know you already know :)

How many pounds of spring pressure on the idler?

Does it help with the wave?

Ah ha - I see you have spotted my (evil?) plan.

Actually I don't know - yet! I was hoping to set the chain tension using a torque wrench on the idler tensioning bolts but even using my in/lb torque wrench doesn't register. The vid was run with me just applying some hand pressure to compress the springs and then tightening the locking nuts.

I will take it to work and measure the spring constant - then by just measuring the length of the spring it will tell me the spring pressure.

Does it help with the wave? - out of the wood it sure does. In the wood? I dunno - I can't stick it into any logs. I'm 8 miles from the milling yard and just over a week ago some idiot texting on his cell phone while driving ran head on into my van!!!

I want to turn up some proper spring retainers rather than using washers. Lucky there's a heap of oil being flung around at that end to keep everything lubricated - there will be even more when I add the aux oiler.

Great stuff Bob,that tensioner is also acting as a torque strut. You may enjoy decelerated wear on your bar in general with that.

I sure hope that you're visiting the patent office with some of these innovations Bob.Lest some mankey mick make a million bucks off your intellectual property......:yourock:
