Hi guys,

some man sent me these pics and he would like to know what is the model of the PARTNER saw (25 years old ?) and what are the specifications. The saw doesn`t start - service man says "ignition module" - doesn`t have spare parts. Any chance to get spare parts for this saw?
Thanks ;)

Most likely, that is correct - but there were some slightly earlier models that pretty much looked the same.

25 years old probably is an understatement.

I'm pretty sure its a P-55 with the yellow case. Try Chainsawr .com for parts. I have two S-55s and one P-55.

There were more models with yellow cases, but most likely you are right, provided the top cover hasn't been replaced. The older ones that I was thinking of had a different top cover (looked it up).

The P-70 looked exactly the same as the P-55 though, so there is a slim possibility that it is one of those.

Troll, I don't know about that. The S and P55, and P-70 had differnt tops. They all share the same with my 7000+ saw.

My Skil 1632/Partner F55 looks more like that one. Could it maybe be a F55A since it has the antivibe handles?

Sorry, I get lost myself. :dizzy:

I meant the the OP saw has a differnt top then the S55, P55 and P70.

It has the same top and handles as the F55A.

Now I see, you actually are right, I see the difference now!

That top cover was used on some of the semi-pro versions (F55, F55A, F65, S50, A55), but those all had black cases and side covers according to the pics I have collected.
I guess that means that either the top cover on that saw is not original, or they made those saws with different colors on the case?

As with many other older saws, it may have been turned into a "Frankensaw" at some point. ;)

I'm pretty sure they made different case colors but then I'm still learing the Partners...

My partner S-55 I bought new in 1980 came with a black crankcase and a yellow chain cover that says profesional on it. I thought it was a pro all this time until I got a p-55 and the crankcase is all yellow and the oil pump is different from the semi pro. So what I've had all this time was a semi pro with a yellow chain cover. Im wondering if my P-55 could be a P-70 with a P-55 top cover.
