2 saw plan

Which one of these would you pick? I'm bored and thinking about 100cc+ saws.

My ultimate 2 saw plan would be a 6800i and a 166!

Well I picked saws that are available new or newish. The 166 would be an awesome big saw but are hard to get ahold of.

Should be 440 and 660 for the Stihl guy's.

or

372 and a 395.

This would be my two saw plan, but it depends alot on the size of the wood also.

If I only kept two of my saws, it would be the 371 and the 395.

I've been thinking of getting a 088 or 3120 sized saw here lately. I'm just trying to figure out if I should go 70cc or 90cc as the small saw. All the wood I've been messing with here lately is big. Most is 30"+ oak. There's a lot of trees down that I'll be cutting up to get out of pastures and to for firewood.

I don't personally heat with wood. Most of my saw work is farm cleanup and taking down trees no one else wants to. People will call me when they have trees too big for their saws to get through. I have cut down a 18" maple tree with the 660 and a 30" cannon bar and limbed and bucked the whole tree up in one go. I don't mind the weight of a 90cc saw. A 70cc saw is a little lighter and close in power when not running a 32" bar.

394 xp and 357 that is what I run. Some times my 285 CD and my 361.

Just get a new 3120 with 28'',36'', and 48'' bars and you'll be set.

Naw, I don't know. Never ran anything bigger than my 372. Myself, I wouldn't like limbing with a 90cc, but thats just me.....I don't even like like limbing with a 70cc.

Either way, make sure you get it before the 29th!! haha

Well the 2171 won't be there the 29th. It was traded to a 395.

So I guess that means you will have the 395, or the 660 as your small saw--wow! Have you noticed the need for more power than your 660 can deliver? I have never handled any of the huge saws, but it would seem that lugging around a 3120, or an 880 wouldn't be that fun! I know you just got rid of the 2171, but wouldn't a 372 along with the 660 be ideal? I love my 346/372 set up but I am only cutting anything 30" or larger very occasionally. I will be watching to see what you decide.

I like the power of the 660. I had a 394 for a little while. The thing that's got me thinking of bigger saws is maybe milling some of these big trees instead of making firewood out of them.

I can't get myself to like a 50cc saw. Maybe when I get older and the weight bothers me.

Modded 660 and Modded 441 took care of everything we did in logging this last year and it had a lot of 50"+ Oaks in it.

We were running 28" on both sizes.

I have a modded 084 but it is just a fun factor rig, I don't really find it to be practical, but it certainly will pull a long bar quickly if you were cutting up the big trees into firewood sized pieces.

So for firewood, on those really big trees I guess I could see running the Modded 084/36"-48" and the Modded 441/28".

If just cutting logs then the Modded 660/28" and 441/28".
