This is all true. Husky is saying a $30 increase on the 372. So that means in my area it still wouldn't be $800. That's almost $200 less than the stihl counterpart.

No my gripe is stihl was already higher priced based on what is on the site compared to other companies...

...Why not wait and see what everyone else does? Maybe even let them surpass your prices

better hurry up and remove that 660 from your wish list in your sig !

You and many others have been hoping that for 40 years, tant happened yet and its pretty certain it not gonna happen anytime soon. Strong arming customers ya say, how? Free market out there, buy any brand you want. It do appear Stihl has lost you as a customer, they have priced themselves out of your business, thats a shame, next up to the counter please,LOLOL

Pretty well said.

I really wish Stihl would make me a 10 cube 090 with anti-vibe and a chain brake and price the same as an MS880. I know they would sell several. They just don't listen to me.

It doesn't matter what the msrp is if they can't sell them. Where I live they sit on the shelf for years if they try to get full msrp out of any saw. One dealer had new 440s on the shelf last summer. They had to be there almost 3 years but that place is usually hard to deal with.

Any future purchases sure wont be stihl. And yea your right it is a free market. I guess im just sick and tired of being having my wallet milked for every nickel and dime no matter what it is. And it just chaps my a__ that now my favorite saw company is doing it too

Nobody milked your wallet, you bought at your own free will, lets get real here. Since your going off on a rant would you work at what you do year after year and never want a raise in your paycheck? Simple yes or no. Reason I ask is when the boys in the factory built the 460 back in 2000 they probably weren't making as much as they are now, why I bet some have got a raise in the last 10 years, fact be known I'm betting you have too but no ranting about that, odd..

are you really paying ~$630 for a 372?

If they could get it to pass EPA I'm sure they would but well you know who won that war...

441= $849.99 for a 20". Just looked. 839 is for 16"

576 non AT=$829.99 24"

460 25"=$989.99

havent had a raise in 4 years and that was a $.25 one, not even cost of living where I work. Every job round here is $10/hour because local economy sucks and no other jobs to be had, not even skilled trade ones. So wanting and getting a raise is two different things, just to get that point out of the way. and yea I got a better price than that on my 460, but its just one more thing to have to pay more money for

What's a 10 cube 090G Super? I want one.:tremble:

Remember just 5 years ago I was cutting firewood with a homie 33cc Ranger. But it had a 16" B/C.

Well you know what I was getting at, costs go up and costs are passed onto the buyer, thats just the way it is and has been for icons. That goes for anything whether it be saws, food, clothes or whatever.

Since the new costs bug ya just remember few dealers, maybe some will stick to full list, but most will wheel and deal on pro saws, the customer rarely pays full list. Some of the homeowner saws there is no wiggle room.

So tell me was you intending on purchasing a new Stihl but the new price has made you say no way? If so I know a place where list price means nothing but attitude means everything...

Its a big saw and rare, very rare. I think it was on a go cart before it was on a saw. Not many to be found, thats for sure..

+1 for the exchange rate guys above.

Blame Bernanke and his Fed henchmen. Google QE-1 and QE-2 ( the sequel-incase we didn't devalue the dollar enough the first time 'round). This is all dollar devaluation and the exchange rate. I thought Volker was a monkey until I followed Greenspans ballet. I thought Greenspan was a moron until Bernanke came along. wonder who's next on the conga line....

And good point about getting a 660! Haha! Good thing is tho is that there seems to be alot of them used and the prices seem to reasonable still. And this whole thing came about basically from sticker shock. Obviously I got a little riled up but I couldnt help it. Fortunately, I already have my 460.

The last one I bought was $680 new last year. The xpw is long gone now. I wish they would update their website. I was talking about the 460 as the counterpart. I forgot about the 441.

That's to bad you have a $20,000/yr income and $30,000 a year wants.
You list your area as NE Ohio.
According to government data, the average salary for jobs in Akron, Ohio is $32,100, and the median income of households in Akron was $32,937
http://www.simplyhired.com/a/local-jobs/city/l-Akron,+OH

And as soon as you get a movement of people to stop buying Stihl's so their sales suffer I'm sure they will lower their prices. While your at it do something about gas prices please.

Did the MS261 go up or did they introduce it anticipating raising the price on the rest of the line up?
