Here's my freshly restored Mall 6. I just realized that I have no pics of my model 7.

If I ever get that old (old) Remington electric saw from my uncle, I'll post it here and let the flaming commence...

I never dreamed that this day would actually come (sniff), but I'm speechless that something with Remington in the title made a sticky:hmm3grin2orange:
Now to put up...not shut up

Here are some pics of a nice old school Remington Super 770, sporting a NOS 30" Remington Bar

Well you started it with your "Why don't Remingtons get any respect" thread. Dave just gave it new legs after last evening's banter. I'll have some pics up of my 754 stable shortly.

Super 75A

My long term project.

Just received a 20" roller nose OEM bar.

Under the 'hood' and the famous 'pinched fire hose' air filter. Thanks to Drew Crane!!

And, thanks Joe at Sugar Creek Supply for making obsolete carb kits.

Waiting on a length of 7/16" chain from Placerville, Ca. so we can test run him in some white oak. If there are no serious issues I will blow him apart for a complete overhaul. I.E. main bearings, seals, rings and a PAINT JOB.

Now I see the difference between a 75 and 75A. The starter is on the R.H. side of Mr. Bow Saw's 75. Also the oiler is the earlier(?) style and no handle brace.

Oh yeah ,,that's a nice saw for restoration. Let me know how the chain procurement goes; I've had a hard time finding .058 .404 pitch chain.

I tried a 20" Homelite hardnose bar with a .404" x .050" x 73 dl on mine when I discovered it had a 7/16" pitch sprocket. Turning the clutch drum by hand produced a 'crunchy' feel. Turned out that the P.O. and the fellow who made up the chain loop were F.O.S..

It must really be though on those new school chainsaw technicians when they try to wrap their head around an old school saw. I took my old chain loop to a local forestry supplier who'd been around since 1974. He took a look at my chain and asked "what the world is that, and what does it fit?" Needless to say, I discounted his proposed replacement ideas.:msp_thumbdn:

Here are a few pics of my Remington SL-9/Wards Power Kraft 2.8. It has a neat little 12" Remington roller-nose bar on it. It's complete and unbroken/uncorroded. The P/C are roached however.

Also has a couple 'bites' taken out of the handlebar. Looks like that was done with another chainsaw somehow (happened before I got the saw). I've decided I won't ever get around to devoting the time/$$$ to getting it going again, so I'm shipping it off to Daddy66. It's a cool little saw. Makes me think of an XL12 'reduced' by about 1/3.
