I been kicking this around for a week now. I think it would be great to have a Partner saw thread. I took a liking to the 500 series saws and all the other makes and models using this design. There is a lot of good info on these saws on this site, but sometimes hard to find when searching for a specific thread. Post any pictures of any Partner saws and their brothers, even if you have posted them already. Lets try to make this thread a wealth of information on these great saws.

The only partner I have is my s50 that I bought new in 1982. I have had it at the West Kentucky gtg the last two years and it is in one of the videos from 2010 and it is in the background of some of the pictures from this year. It still runs pretty good but with no antivibe handle it will definitely give your hands some vibes. The only other one I have run is the p70 that Mastermind had at the gtg and he had it running quite well.

He sure did have it running well at that! Seems he said it has a new owner now though...

That Skill/Partner is a F55 Partner and it runs extreamly well for 55cc.

Here's a video of my 5000+.

Nice Thread Arrowhead.

Here is a Partner R440 i rebuilt over a year ago.
The R440 is Partners early 100cc saw before the
P100 came out. I think around 1974 vintage.
This one came out sweet, It needed a crank and
piston. Cylinder was good. I replaced all bearings,
seals and gaskets. Strong running saw.

Thats a cool saw Lee, I thougth I had one snagged awhile back but it didnt work out.

Other then the ign what else is different then the P100 on them?

I'm not really sure Mark.
I have never had a P100 apart.
This R440 has electronic ignition
as well as the P100's do.

Lee

Lee, as far as I know yours is not a R440 then, it is a R440T. The T stands for Thyristor Ign.

I had even forgot about that as I was still thinking about the R440 that I was after and it was a points ign saw.

That sure seems like a nice saw you got there.

Besides Jred, Mac and Poulan, did Partner make saws for any other companies?

Good question, I'm not sure about that one.

You know that after the Elux takeover things got crossbread alot and after the Pioneer/Partner deal that it seems most Partners were sold only in Europe.

The good Partner name got used in europe to sell consumer saws just like what happend to Poulan in the US.

Ironic that most Partner consumer saws ended up as relabled Poulans. d

Someone want to refresh my memory as to what year is was that Elux bought out Partner?
