MATC Milwaukee NORTH Campus has a landscape horticulture program with a climbing/arborist program you could look into. I was in their landscape program for a year but it wasn't for me. I have since transferred to Mid-State Tech College in Wisconsin Rapids (central part of the state) and they have an outstanding Urban Forestry and Arboriculture program. We climb a few times a week and are learning advanced rigging techniques every friday. Our program goes to TCIA conference every year as well as the WAA conference and the Midwest Urban Tree Care Forum in Chicago. The program is constantly connecting you with industry professionals and new knowledge. Another option is UW-Stevens Point they have forestry and urban forestry programs. I also attended there for a year...Mid-State is hands down the best program of the three. If you are just looking for entry level climbing experience you could probably check out MATC and get a good basis for knowledge. Mike Wendt is the instructor there and he knows his stuff from what I've heard. Never climbed with him though. Good luck.
