Is there anything to gain from a unlimited coil? Other than the fact easier to tune by ear? I know i could gain more RPMs, but are they useful rpms? I have a 372XT thats stock other than a muffler mod.

The blue limited coil in a 372XT starts limiting around 13,500. You don't need to run faster than that anyway.

If you are a guy that like to tune by ear, the XT versions of these saws do two - four break when setting the mixture as distinctly as the older ones, the black unlimited coil will eliminate the miss of the limiter variable from your tuning.

It is best that you tune the high speed at 12,500 - 13,000 on these chainsaws and do it with a tachometer.

I was debating going with a unlimited coil, but found a works connection tach/hour meter for $20, so jumped on that. Just wasnt sure if gains would be made from removing the limiter and having a little higher rpms. Thanks!
