BrokenToys,

I'm in the beer option camp also.
Start drinking and stacking and in no time bark side wont matter.
The stack will get done somehow but you wont remember doing it :)

Eh, maybe have a beer. Maybe have one less. It really shouldn't bug you that bad. From the responces that have been posted, apparently more than one person cares about how their wood is stacked. We all have bad days but try to keep the ole chin up eh?

It really doesn't bother me at all, I just figured I'd add some useful information to this most beneficial thread

How is information of any type ever useless? Unless of course it is untrue. It's not so much of a factual hardcore do or die thread, it's more about having a preverbial beer around a preverbial fire while discussing with fellow wood burners how they do their thing. Every once in awhile when mouths are closed and ears are open, you just might pick something up that can make your life easier.

Like it makes a difference.

I think a lot of people have too much time on their hands.

I go both ways

I put a piece in the fire place with the bark up then the next one I go bark down

nooo! the first piece goes in bark down then bark up. i think i'll do a poll on how to load the stove, bark up or bark down and what about rounds that have bark all over? almost forgot splits with no bark.:bang:

I stack it all randomly, in crooked, leaning stacks in the woodshed. Usually while swilling cold frosties,,I aint sure why they are always crooked leaning stacks,,I've swilled many a cold frosty while contemplating this phenom,,before stacking more. It's kinda' funny, late in the winter, I'm always finding empty beer bottles, wedged between the splits of wood, with the labels all facing up!!
