372xpw vs. 365

Which would you choose between the 2 the 372 is used but been gone through, new bearings gaskets etc, with 28 in bar 485.00 vs. brand new 365 w/28 in. bar for 699.00 pl. tax.. the 372 would be about 515.00 shipped, seller says it runs perfect, saw is going to be used to fell/buck occasional really big logs or trees. Also the 372 is the bigger bore pre EPA saw.

for the savings alone i'd snatch up the rebuilt 372 but if it is a brand new model year 365 it can be converted into a 372 with a little grinding.

Yes, is the 365 an X-torx? $699 is too much if it s not. That price is retail for a new 365xt and I bet if you shop around, you could get a better price on one. The 365xt is a powerful saw and as mentioned, can be easily upgraded. If you are talking about an older 365............the 372 is a better deal and you can often get those for a little better price used also......IMO.

Hardly pre EPA, but rather pre "strato"!

You can buy a 365 any time you like.....XPW's are a little tough to come by. Price sounds good to me, if it is as advertised.

I overlooked the fact that it was a XPW. These are much harder to come by and that is probably a good price indeed.

Thanks guys the 365 is a plain 365 not xp, dealer said it was reg. priced at 800.00, so its really retail at 699.00...will look into the 372 some more if not already sold.

I'd grab thatt xpw also. They are great saws. They are both good saws but the price on the xpw is decent if its as described like mentioned above. 75cc of tree killing terror baby!

Far from all 372xpw saws had the 75cc top end, just those that were sold in the US around 2006-2009 (or maybe 2010).

There never was a 365xp (XT or X-torq mans something totally different).

I'm in North Norway, and don't know how good that deal is where you live (doesn't look like a great one though).
Anyway, I wouldn't want a 28" bar as the main one on a 365, although it will do it with skip chain.

Ive cut alot of firewood in the last 30 yrs but most of my experience has been with 60cc and under saws, what saw would I need to pull a 28 in. bar like it should, mainly interested in Husky saws but would consider Stihl... will the 372 pull a 28 in. bar..? The saw is only going to be used to cut up big butts from logging, most 36 in. or better around, mostly oak/hickory and beech.

Yes, and specially the 75cc ones.

However, be aware that peoples perseption of what "will pull" means vary a lot....

No it is not a great deal. That is retail for the new x-torq which is stronger and easier on fuel. The old 365 is a very good saw but the dealer seems to be trying to sell you an older version he has left at the new price( maybe he does not know the difference as I have seen this at a number of dealers, some just don't keep up). You could check the serial tag to see the year of manufacture and that will tell you how old it is.
