Are there any alternative carbs for this that will work? I tried epoxying the accelerator pump but that made it worse.
I can't get it to accelerate now. Is there any other way to modify it to possibly get it to work?

I offered to foolishly fix my friends saw and it has been a nightmare.

I'd try to richen the idle as far as possible, also try fudging on the metering lever, raise it a TINY bit. If that don't do it, go a TINY bit more.

I had the low speed cranked out like 4 turns and it didn't make a difference. I could try the metering lever.
I had to stop fiddling with it before I smashed it into a pine tree.

Why get rid of the accelerator pump? I have several saws with them and they work great - you can set the L properly at max idle rpm without having to make it richer than optimum. Never had one fail.
