Often wondered if these guys do the old switcheroo when doing their comparo vids?

Face it, they start with the baddest saws on the market, not the 'consumer saws' most people use the most anywho.

Been messing with internal combustion engines of all flavors for a very long time and know that even with the best intentions and fore thought it is very possible to go backward.

So could the better times in the comparos' be made by the stock saw?

These guys are here to make a buck plain and simple, there is always a handful on every enthusiast site on the web.

Just wondering why anyone would go out and pay the big bucks for the newest wiz-bang saw, then it is not good enough?

****,

most the gains are from opening up the muff anyways.

Guess they throw in a little grinding to give you "more bang fer your buck"?

Sheeze some folks have too much money eh?

Mike

That's not a fair fight, the good Lord himself could not "fix" a husky top handle to actually run well, no less better.

C'mon man!!!! Let's get some 362 love up there....sheesh husky top handle ???
I got a ported 009L that will cut circles around that lump of turd.

I roll my own too.

I like to keep it super simple, Air in air out and maximize the 'little things'.

I disagree about the muff mods, every saw made in the last 15 or more years benefits from less restriction.
I do believe you roll your own! AND I do agree muff mods give some gain but most is the wrong word for it.

Can't put them all in one bag, but there are some that are so restricted no matter what you do internally they will be gutless without a free flowing exhaust.

Best part, it's still the saw owners choice. Besides it would only take a few saws for people to realize the builder pulled a fast one.

Guess people just like to 'think' they have an edge.

It's like the guys at the range that come in with an $8000 Beretta and get embarrassed by the guy with an old Savage.

No matter how bad arsed your saw is, it is pretty handicapped if the operator doesn't know what he's doing or he can't maintain a chain.

You might be able to tell I don't cut cookies on a stand, we cut 'em 18-22 inches under tension or compression.(some times both)

Sorry old cat,

must dis agree again.

Chain is key, good saw, bad chain no bueno.

Kinda like buying a Viper and running donut spares on all four corners!
