Yes unless your trying to stay on your 600 budget like on your homeowner thread that is why I mentioned 550 xp it also has autotune but a 50 cc saw
You're right but I figure if I skip the lattes at Starbucks and just get their "blond roast" I'll make up the difference in a few months. ☺

Go for the 562. When I was debating a 357XP versus 372XP, went for the 372 and never looked back.
The 562 is talked about tons on this site. Best $50 you ever spent.
They will correct me but the 555 isn't a pro saw? The 562 being XP is pro. Brad knows 555 inside and out so he could tell you what you might be missing being 555 isn't pro saw if I'm right on that.

I'm a rookie compared to the other guys you have been talking to, but have read this site quite a bit in the last 3 years.
(I feel like the TV commercial "I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night" so today I'm a logger) ...

Good luck -- sounds like you can't go wrong with either saw.
And you must post pictures when you get your saw or it didn't happen.

Maybe I can complicate your life more and point out that for an extra $60 you could have heated handles on the 562 :)

A good dealer that has the diagnostic tool has been valuable to me for one of my autotune saws, the other three were never an issue.

I my opinion all you need for that much wood is a good 50cc saw, unless you're cutting larger rounds most of the time. I do the vast majority of my cutting with saws 50cc and under these days. I owned a 610, and I can tell you it will be astonishing how smooth and fast a good modern saw will cut. I know I've said this a thousand times, but the most important thing is keeping your chain properly sharpened.

Here is what a good 50cc saw, with a muffler mod, and good sharp chain can do in 18" Ash.

Very good point in above post...l have a snellerized ms261 and it is a very capable saw but a 562 is not really a big 60cc saw its more like yesterdays 50cc saws. l think what husky did was great with the 555/562 creating a dedicated new 60cc chassis platform that changed the way l see 60cc class saws. Other brands will often use the same components/chassis on their 60/70/80cc saws making the 60cc saw the least powerfull in its range but with the size/bulk/wieght of an 80cc saw. For example look at Dolmar....the 6400/7300/7900 are all essentially the same saw with displacement being the only difference. The 562/555 has a purpose built chassis designed to house 60cc's which now makes a 60cc saw an attractive option opposed to the worst option. Pitty the carbs suck though they are big enough and sell enough saws to make a carb that is reliable right out of the box.

I assume your referring to the original EL46 carb's, but from what I've just learned from the AS members the EL48 resolves those problems.

Going to get the 562 tomorrow, (but checking that carb first), thanks to everyone for their opinions and knowledge. AS is a great site and source of information for amateur "arborists" like myself.

Anyone want to buy a one owner pro mac 610 with a new 20 in b&c (see how quickly I learn) for $100? It still runs and cuts great, I'm just upgrading.

Well, it's your money, and the 562xp is a great saw, but if I were you I'd be looking at a Husky 545. Less money, latest technology, highly-rated, and, at 50 cc's, still overkill for 1 cord/year. Two pieces of advice that I was given: 1. Use the smallest saw that will comfortably do the job, and 2. Avoid saws that will cut faster than you can think.

I always drain the fuel from my saws when I done and then run them until they die so there's no gas in the carb. Never had a problem with any of them.

I can't help myself; maybe that advice was designed specifically for you, not general advice haha

just kidding, makes sense.

Good advice, I have an Echo 360T for the light stuff, but most of my wood comes from Arborists that have cut trees around my home and leave me the trunks which often run 18in +. I need something that won’t wear me out sectioning them. I'm sure a 545 would be adequate but a 562 will be fun. Kind of like driving to the store, a Chevy will get me there in comfort, but is it exciting to drive?
Also, I wouldn’t use any chainsaw without proper protection and care.

The 357xp vs 372xp is not even a close comparison. Where as the 555 & 562xp are almost the same saw.

That said, I'd likely take the 357xp (ported) over all of them. :D
