Thanks for the pics guys. I just bought one from my buddy. He let me have it for $50. Going to pick it up tomorrow. I'll take pics with the weeds growing through it. He said he had it running , but it wasn't running right. He has a big electric powered splitter inside his barn, so the little lickity was a project way back on the back burner. It's the bigger model with the 2 stage piston. I figured I'd just buy a new 6 1/2 from HF and try to work out any bugs. I can pick up an 8 hp Kohler and rebuild it if I want to restore it original, Joe.

I have a parts break down and owners manuel in PDF. I'll send them to you if you need them. If your missing any springs I more than likely have them. I had to order 6 of each spring from the Jones spring co. in order for them to send them to me.

I might take you up on the springs. I didn't get to pick it up last Sat because it iced up too much to get to it. Gonna try again tomorrow. The parts and owners manual would be great. I'll PM you when i get it home and see just what model it is. Thanks, Joe.

lickety pics

I would like verymuch to see those photos, thanks kenny s

Here's some more pictures. We added a secound handle to operate the high low valve. We couldn't get the auto shift for the high low valve to operate properly, so we made it manuel.

Thanks for the extra pics, I may have to do the same thing. Just got it home and have to clean it up some, full of leaves and rotted crud from sitting under a tree. My buddy said he had it running and working, I didn't ask how long ago. I bought a Harbour Freight 6.5 hp engine yesterday. I figured that a new engine woul eliminate one point of problems. It is a 26mk34a, and my buddy let me have it for $50. Here's a couple pics, Joe.

I ended up buying a 5" honed cylinder because, the inside of the cylinnder was pitted whith rust. We had to take it to a machine shop and had the piston turned down to fit the cylinder. If you do that you will have to salvage the back end cap of the cylinder and reinstall it on the new cylinder. Here are those manuels.

Thanks for the manuals. I don't know why but my old email address is coming up. I'll have to see if I can fix that. I had to change it so I could log on, so I don't know why it's showing the wrong one.

You can kinda see how my hitch lopes backward, there's a plate with a pintle hook on it. I'm going to make a plate to match and weld a 2 inch receiver recepticle on it. Then I'll make 3 inserts with 1 7/8", 2", and 2 5/16", hitches so I can tow it with whatever vehicle I've got handy, or let my friends use it.

I went down to the splitter with a wire wisk broom and started cleaning off the deck a little. What looked like plywood separating was actually saw dust and crud rotted up about an inch thick. Once I got to the bottom the steel skid plate was there. More to come, Joe.

Lickity manuals

Here's some manuels that I have. I hope this helps.
We did away with the auto shift and made it manual shift (which works just as well with just a slap of a lever).

yo, you gotta think outside the box to understand Toms posts. Your model, is it 2 speed? I dont recall that model you spoke of. Its like you mixed model #'s. The 2 speed , depending on length, were originaly the 26mk34 a-f, wich were later the Mk348. The dog ass slow economy models were the Mk308 later on and I forgot what they were orig, but I think 26mk30? You can get an owners man from Webb bro's in Cali, but they charge $75. for it. Post a pic of yours and Ill tell you what it is. Or, go to the thread titled lickity splitter firewood operation in the firewood forum and tell me if its set up like mine. Keep in mind the one in the table in the pic is a highly modified model. Oh, and any questions, Super3 and I can pretty much answer any you have. I have original broshures from the 60's of these things. Weve had 4, and I split over 250 face anually with em. Had machine shops make me hundreds of $'s in parts.
I was reading your posts .evident That you know a lot about these splitters wondering if you know of one for sale I'm looking for one in any condition thanks

Just picked up my second MK348 splitter a few weeks back. This one has a 4 point wedge on it. The construction on the side wings is a perfect match for the rest of the wedge. Does anyone know if they offered this as an option? I'll post a few pics tomorrow.

I'd Like to see the wedge haven't had a opportunity to see one up close . They look impressive in the photos
