It appears based on the boxes of line on the bench that 90014 and 90015 are the 2 most popular echo sizes. 3/32x3/16 is also a very popular size to use based on my inventory records. I measured a husky curly line and came up with 5.6-5.7mm so 90015 must be what i use on them.

OK ......... here is the scoop;

Nate sent me some Tygon 4040 and Excelon to add to the Stens blue I ordered. I also have the Oregon 30% and some Great Planes Nitro 4140 tubing. They are all in a jar (with a lid) of 2 cycle mix pump gas regular 87 octane with (supposedly 10%, but tested at 15%) ethanol.

Got some response from St Gobains. The short story is LP-1500 is their recommendation for E-10. They are going to send me a sample, I'd be happy to send moparmyway a piece.
Now for the fly in the ointment.....LP-1500 does not have the smaller size that 4040 does. The smaller size is:
ID OD wall
5/64" 9/64" 1/32"
This is the small poulan size.
Now I also see.... fordf150 offerings don't seem to have the smaller poulan size either.
Anyone else working this problem and found a tubing formula that works WITH the correct smaller size?

I'm trying to see if the LP1100(yellow) or LP1200 will be OK.

1200 I have isnt yellow.
sorry my bad....yellow 1100 not 1200 see here:

In talking at length to the lady at SG, I should be getting samples of all 3 (1100, 1200 and 1500). Since they recon the 1500 is by far the best for E-10 that they are interested in my suggestion to do the 1500 in the small size and will discuss with the marketing dept.

ADDED: How many people use the small .078/.140 on poulan saws, blowers, weedwackers ETC. A custom run of LP1500 in this size is 4000 ft. Are there 400 people willing to buy 10ft?

Fellas -

Bumping a great thread to see if anyone has some updated information. I'm inclined to order some Oregon 30% line.

On a related note, I have numerous makes/models/vintage saws, most of which need new fuel lines. Can someone make a recommendation on what sizes I should keep on hand?

Thanks!

Scott

l have a feeling that a lot of 'tygon' sold on the interwebs is chinese copy and not in fact really tygon. l have had similar experience to westcoaster and find their lines not equal diameter to OEM. They can be made to work but its always alittle big or small. l bought it after many on here recommended it but l am not sure if its really tygon at all.....more like rebadged fish tank air line.
I'm sure you have got that right the genuine stuff I have had no problems with.I also found the different colour for size line from the Greek guy selling on Fleabay to last well but our fuel is all E free

How many have noticed when installing the lip 1200 .080x.140 line that it can NOT be pulled thru the tank with out streaching to the point where what you pulled thru inside the tank is no longer the same outer diameter making for a semi funnel shaped taper seal which is about useless in my book. What I find myself having to do to install the lp 1200 with out prematurely damaging it is pushing with a pair of hemistats as I pull with a separate pair of needle nose watching not to stretch the line or I’m starting all over again. This is all while using stihls factory press fluid so it’s far from dry whee the line meets the tank!

I’ve used the tru blue stuff from stens as well. I can not stand the regular yellow tygon as it will not last .you install it in a customers walmart special weed eater or saw one year and their back the next not with running problems but due to a fuel leak all a result of that tygon you installed last year which outer diameter has hardened and shrunk. Now opening up a seep to a hush of fuel everyone the unit is moved. Now your the one looking like the bad guy rolling customer they need me fuel lines yet again! NOT COOL we’re in business to help the customer here!

Most of them will be slimy in a few days, the real Tygon doesn't seem to get this way in my experience. After a few weeks, or however long you decide to leave them in the jar, let them dry out for awhile. I'm glad someone decided to do this, saves me the time.:numberone:

I have a bunch of different size line, I just go with the one that fits the best.;)

Here is where he was giving results and the rest of us was testing the lines. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/ported-saws/fuel-lines-tygon-etc/

All those new epa ones I wont use anymore =1100 1200 1500 and the poulan oem one.

Stens blue I never had a problem with but they dont make the small one so I use 4040 in that and the echo oem in the others.

i've literally had a saw sit for a month and not start cause the inside of the line turned gummy sucking up and plugging the carb. just out a piece of tygon in fuel for a month and then go check it out. turned into a slimy mess. i mean it's still intact but that slimyness actually plugs the line on the inside. i stopped using it years ago. the hack here who burn 4 tanks a year especially wanna use a good quality line LOL would suck to have to replace a fuel line everytime you go use your saw. tygon is NOT the way to go. there is better fuel hose available if you look.
Was your fuel line stamped F4040A?or was it Tygon look alike Iv'e not had problems with the Genuine stuff dipping the end in boiling water for 30 or so secs usually aids a to small/tight size line to fit over the metal tube on the carb

All I have available to me is tygon and a similar line branded oregon. I’ve had so many lines do the same that I’m tempted to say they are both junk although i don’t remember actually checking the brand after they turned slimey.
