Hey guys had this saw in a box for a while, its time to start digging into it. This is the first husqvarna I've ever owned so I'm going g to try my hand at resurrecting it.
The good is its complete
The bad news is it was straight gassed, so the piston is bad and the crank bearings feel roached.
If my research is correct the earlier ones had problems spinning the bearings in the case. I'm not sure if that is the case on this one, haven't split it yet.
Serial number is 08 0400177.
My question is does anybody know where to get bearings? I see a few listed on eBay but I don't know if anyone has found better alternatives for buying 100 bucks worth of bearings. Thanks for the help!

The clutch side is $30 from your dealer and comes with the seal installed. The flywheel side is a standard 6202 bearing if I remember right. I know this because I did one about a month ago. You should be able to do the bearings for around $50. Case gasket included.

I was working my way toward this very question with the 575xp I will be digging into soon. Mine was made in '08 as well.

I think mine is an 05. When I split it I didn't see any indication that it spun in the case. Worst thing about these 57x saws is it's oem or bust on the pistons, meteor doesn't make one. I really need to find a crank for a 570/575 so I can put my spare case together for a backup, or to sell.

Golf makes pistons for them. I see mostly fair reviews of them here, chief complaint is with the piston circlips. I'll probably end up going that route and getting OE circlips

I have a new FW side seal and bearing I think. I couldn't use them on the 570 I put the crank in as I think I ended up with a 576 crank that had a 15mm shaft on the fw side and ended up using a 6202 bearing in it.

If you need the bearing with I think it was 16mm ID, I'll send you these that I have for free.

Like was said, the PTO side is about $30 with the seal. Your saw is a 08 and was way past the trouble years.

If the OP doesn't take you up on that generous offer, I would like to be second in line.

Yeah I forgot about you needing them too!

I just want to give them to someone who needs them and hope they pony up for a OEM piston instead of that Golf crap.

I had a Golf piston break on a 1100 Husky, pulled the pin right out of the bottom. Again that was the only AM piston for those as well. At least you can still get OEM for the 575, that wasnt a option for the 1100/2100

You guys work it out and I'll send that bearing and seal to someone. ;)

Just wanted to update this. I have my case split, surprisingly the PTO side bearing feels alright. The fw side however is missing most of the bearing cage. My fw side bearing is a 6202. Farmertec makes a piston I see that I was tempted to try. I have plenty of 6202 bearings just not the correct seal. The PTO side I will have to order in, it makes no sense to replace one bearing and not the other.

Well Ok then, sounds good. PM me a place to send it to.

Hold up on sending them. I am only going to have this saw around for a while, I have 2 perfectly good 046s and an 066 to use as my big saws right now. If ride red is going to keep his saw and put it to work for himself send him the bearing and seal. This is very kind of you to send these I just want to make sure he isn't in need of them worse than me before I take them.

Your positive your 08 575XP uses a 6202 bearing on the fw side? If so that means I'm really confused.

The 570 I done used a crank with a 16mm shaft on the fw side. The crank I got for it was a 575 crank so I was told and it had a 15mm shaft on the fw side and the original bearing of course would not fit.

What throws me is the IPL's show the 570/575 using the same bearings both sides up to the 07 IPL which is the last one I have for them and since the 570 I done had a 16mm shaft, I thought thats what it is.

The 09 IPL that I have for the 570/576 show the 576 using a different bearing and seal for the fw side.

I wish I had a 08 570/575 IPL as I'm wondering if that was the first year for the bearing change, but I just went to the Husqvarna site and it don't look like you can download IPL's anymore.

I first but the 570 together with some no name 6202 bearing and within a month it came back to me with a wiped out FW side bearing. This time I ordered all new bearings and seals from Husqvarna and I ordered the FW side bearing and seal for a 576 but they still wouldn't fit as they were 16mm id.

The bearing number I ordered wasnt the one I received and I just chalked it up to them sending me the wrong one and went ahead and put the saw together with a good name brand 6202 bearing and a 15x26x7 seal. That was about 4 months ago and the saw is still out there working well.

I went out and found the bearing and seal I was offering up but at this point I don't think they will work for you as there both for a 16mm shaft. A 6202 bearing is a 15mm ID.

Seal #505486801 and bearing #525434301

At this point I am more confused then I was before and suggest you don't pay me any mind...

When I had my 575XP I ran it several times with a guy I know that ran a 460 all the time. I much prefer the 575XP as it was more powerful, faster and 10 times more smooth and comfortable to run then the 460. It also had plenty of a oiler to oil a 28" bar while the 460 oiler barely had enough for his 28".

I am not sure if it is indeed an 08 model. The serial number starts with 08 on the crank case itself. The tank handle is marked 9 out of twelve and 7 out of ten, I'm not a husqvarna guy so I don't know the numbering on them. But I assume that means at lest the tank handle was manufactured in September of 2007. Thus saw could very well be put together out of more than one saw, but I am positive the fw side is a standard 6202 bearing.

Thanks for the confirmation on the bearing. Like I said if thats the case you can use a regular off the shelf 15x26x7 seal for it but if your ordering parts from Husky the oem seal wasn't overpriced really.

I'm fairly certain your saw is a 08 from those numbers. I thought I had seen a 575 IPL somewhere before that showed a different FW side bearing but I'm not certain of anything right now. I need to find a 08 IPL as that must have been the last year for the 575.

Even if the 575 outcuts my 046, it may or.may not, the 575 is not to my personal liking. Way entirely too much going on in that thing that seems way more complicated to me personally compared to my stihls. But I am definitely looking forward to trying a husqvarna.

I wasn't knocking the 046 but was bragging up the Husky. I got a MS460 hear right now I just put together last week.

There a good saw and are pretty easy to work on. I really didn't find anything particularly hard on the Husky for a complete rebuild. Yeah the carb area is a little busy but not difficult really.,

I didnt have a problem with disassembly either on the husqy. I really can't complain about the husqy carb because I am used to 4 cylinder bike engines with all sorts of weird air charging stuff too. I will definitely do a comparison between the 046s and the husqy when its done. Just scored a farmertec piston for .99 and 5 dollar shipping. Going to try it and tell Dave about results.
Now, one of the stuffers is bent on the crank, think I might just pitch them. Any ideas?
