i purchased a cheap parts saw 455 rancher and just got done installing new aftermarket piston an cylinder, put it all back together and so far its running good, still needs tuned i think a bit more. i bought a Husqvarna 18" bar for it, but it would not fit, i think the bar i purchased is HT-380-68. i do not want a farm tough bar, i prefer the looks of one that just says Husqvarna on it. 18" 3/8 .050 is the size i need. are there any bars that size that will fit the 455 rancher, that just say Husqvarna on them?

Yes. I know because I bought my 455 with one -- that was about 5 years ago. Now, I kinda wish I had stayed with the 20" since the 18"-68 link chain is quite a bit harder to find AND a bit more expensive. Just my $0.02.

You purchased a big mount husky (D009), you need a small mount, KO95. I would go with a 20. Way more common and chains are easier to get a hold of, but that is just me.

Bars look best with the paint worn off, that beautiful patina after the first week...
You know how people buy jeans with holes in them and distressed furniture?....Can I get bars from you so you can make them look cool before I put them on my saws? That is the most important thing I consider when bar shopping.

thank you gents for all the replies. never heard about the big mount and small mount bars, thank you for that information. i ended up ordering this bar, HT280-68. i have another question..has anyone ever ported a 455 or 460 cylinder? i have a oem 460 cylinder and piston coming to me and thought about getting out the dremel to lightly sand the ports some. when i received the aftermarket 455 cylinder i used there was flashing that needed knocked off in a lot of places, was thinking of getting out the dremel then and tinkering some. the oem cylinder is much better quality but i was still wondering if anyone for the fun of it did any on their 455 or 460.

well just got done installing that new 49mm cylinder an piston on my husqvarna 455, i ported the intake and exhaust, and cleaned up some areas, supposedly though it doesn't do much due to x torq?, but after drilling 4 small holes in the muffler, and also installing the correct heat range plug, ( i had a rcj6y), removing the limiter caps, tuning, its running damn good imo. decent saw now, ill see how runs in the next couple days.
