That sure is an unusual saw. I've never seen one like that.

Btw. Didn't stihl make a 2 stroke push mower at one time?

To my knowledge ,this is a one off built in the Stihl factory.
137 cc ,twin Tillotson carbs.
This was designed to compete against the big MCCULLOUGH racing saws.
Two piece cylinder and no decompression lever and when you pull the cord it's all or nothing.

DON'T know anything about the Stihl mowers.

Posted in the J-red sticky as well, but I thought I would post here, too.

So I pulled the El Raket XB family out for a family picture today.

The red one is in mint condition; I'm the third owner. Second owner had it for the past 30+ years and used it quite sparingly. I'm told that the red XB's were for export; the green ones were sold new in Sweden. i

The middle saw is a regular XB. Arrived a few days ago; haven't had a chance to clean it up yet.

The green one on the end is an XB-19, but we can't figure out what the difference is between an XB and an XB-19. This one did come with the original literature, but it's all in Swedish.

I picked up this McCulloch 550 on saturday. The guy said he used it up until 4 years ago to cut wood, he seemed like a bit of a BSer though and the chain seemed to rusty to have been used that recently. Other than the wrap handlebar being buggered up and the rear handle cover being torn, it's in decent shape. It has 150-160 psi of compression and after cleaning the points it fired up with a little mix trickled down the carb. I can't seem to dig up much information on these 550's. Is that because they were only made for a couple of years?

I bought it to mount on the side of my M715. I'd like to turn it into a tribute United States Forest Service or National Park Service brush truck. Here's a pic of the truck with my late pup Remi.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

And for the link to the IPL. This looks to be a 68 model with the tillotson carb. I haven't been able to get the carb dialed in yet, I'll wait until my tach shows up to mess with it more. You don't by any chance have the owners manual as well, do you PogoinTheWoods?

Here's mine, using it 7 or so years ago. I think Mark could hear the Mac over the Husky he was cutting with. Primer doesn't work, but I didn't have much trouble starting it when warmed up.

Thanks Huck, I found a vid of the Twin in action.

You'd need the Paul Bunyan build to run one solo!
