It's still listed on eBay, isn't the builder of this saw a sponsor on this site? I would have thought he might speak up to answer some of the questions that have arisen. I have actually bought a couple of saws from him, with mixed results. Got a new 7910 pretty good price and was exactly what he said it was . Bought a used 7910 that he had done some work on and it wasn't worth a bag of rocks! Luckily it was thru eBay and was able to return it right away plus a lot of other issues that we will just leave unspoken! But as to the spec's on this saw I asked him about how he was able to get the advertised cc's and what he told me was. " Um I think it was a 385 cylinder, I looked at 1 one day and thought I can make that work" and some more rambling balogna just really sounded like he was making it up as he went!
The problem I have is that if I am not mistaken is a 385 not 54mm which would be the same as current aftermarket BigBore offerings which is 85 cc I believe. But even if there is a BB 385 cyl option, which I am not sure about, not familiar enough with the platform, I would have a hard time with what was stated as gospel due to confronting him on multiple statements that obviously had issues. I believe that the only way to reliably determine what is inside this monster would be like Carl @MillerModSaws said and do exploratory surgery!
As for this particular sawI feel sure it runs pretty good due to the fact that the OP has owned it for multiple years and probably wouldn't have bought so many chains for it if not. I feel sure Scott has someone working for him that builds and ports these and probably perform as expected, the advertised specs.on the other hand are open for interpretation, yeah that's the ticket...

Not sure why you replied to my post dolmar enthusiast, but welcome to AS.
I liked your post, only as in I read it.
Seems odd you would say you feel this one runs good because the OP owned it for many years and has many chains, yet I'm guessing you have many chains and may or may not still own the ones he's done for you that have had mixed results o_O. I don't know much about the seller, except what I have read of this post as well as the CL post and his ebay ads and feedback, so for me I would nit want to make those assumptions as I've been wrong many times. He may say its the best saw he has ever run, and it would be true, but it could also be one of 2 saws he's ran. Without talking to the OP and getting a better "feel" for him/the saw I wouldn't jump to many conclusions myself.
I'd like to see him come back around and get his saw sold. I wonder as @svk if he has a bunch of PMs and doesn't even know it, maybe he forgot where he listed it or his password, I've done that before lol.

Just buy a few already Rod :p.
to late already did a nice 6421 now the decision to remove the perfectly good stock cylinder and go with the factory new 7910 piston/cylinder or the nwp 54mm ;) or just to leave it alone it's fine the way it sits .....nanana that wont happen ............... having cad is just one problem the constant can't leave any thing alone.... is the real disease :(

I was reading that thinking, what's wrong with this guy, then I realized you got me . I just bypassed all that and bought one all set up :happybanana:, then one that was slightly modded .

Thank you for the welcome and I am sorry if I have in some way offended you by attaching or replying to your post I only did so because it seemed you were responding to the Gentleman who stated that it was no longer available on CL so I tried to add something to the conversation that it was still listed on eBay,I guess it was none of my business. I should've posted my thoughts without attaching to anyone elses post, won't happen again.
I assumed that my thoughts on the OP and the condition and quality of this particular saw were understood to be just that, assumptions perhaps I wasn't clear enough. And yes I have many chains but apparently you misunderstood, I have never met or gotten any saws from the OP so when you say that I may or may not still own the saws I have gotten from him is a misunderstanding, will have to go back and reread my original post to see where I went wrong and I will try to learn from it so as not to create so much confusion next time. The person I was referring to was the Seller and builder of these saws who also happens to be a sponsor on this forum I assume due to the fact that his name is at the top of the page. He is the only person I have ever had an issue with, but quickly resolved that and learned my lesson.
As far as the OP is concerned I guess I am just to nice of a guy and want to give most people the benefit of the doubt and thought it was clear that all of my statements about the OP were assumptions, I apologize if that wasn't emphatically clear. The builder and original seller still has some of these and some jreds on eBay and I am familiar with him and made my original post so as to possibly warn perspective buyer's to proceed with caution when dealing with him not the OP. But again that doesn't mean that this seller or saw is in anyway tainted! But as you and I said those are purely assumptions . Again Thank You and sorry for the confusion...

the 7910 is 78.3 cc 52mm and the nwp aftermarket kit 54mm should be around 80-81cc ? be tough to get over 90cc out of this saw with out major work not a pro on the subject .....however i do want one of these saws in the 78-80cc range.... :) bump to the top
My mistake then I thought that the 54mm aftermarket PC made these 84-85 cc Don't know where I got that from if it's not the case. And I have heard so many negative things about that particular combination and enjoy my 52mm OEM setups so much that not something that I have researched much..
Thanks for the clarification...

I figured out where I came up with those numbers, Baily's list the NWPbig bore 54mm at 84cc and also some other Internet sellers. But I am no mathematician, not enough to know the formula for bore and stroke calculations. So just because they say it's so don't make it so, and you sound like you've done the math...

I swapped one of my 6401's 47mm to a 52mm 7900 PC before the 7910's were available but I have heard that the 7910 is a much better starting point. And definitely better than aftermarket NWP if porting is a possibility in the future...

No offense taken at all, thanks :).
I was just unsure if you were looking for a response from me ;).
That is exactly what I thought you meant as well.
And as you said, you previously had problems with one you had gotten from the original seller not the guy who posted this one, that being said I would not give this one the thumbs up unless you know the seller or this saw personally. I often comment as to the seller "great seller", the saw "awesome saw"(based on experience with the builder, that specific saw, or having liked that model when I owned one/own one) and I'm specific on which one of these I'm talking about. Im specific because I do nit want to build false trust in any of those areas, but since there is no way of leaving feedback here the one way is to comment in such a manner.
You can see that in my first post I tried to help him out by giving credibility as to being a person selling and actual saw, we've seen plenty of scams/scammers come through here.
As previously stated no offense taken here :).

Thanks for your understanding, I originally thought I was fairly clear that I was primarily referring to the original builder. I have never said anything publicly about his business practices unfortunately didn't even leave a critical review on eBay, and I should have so as to possibly save someone else from the issues I experienced.
I didn't mean to"vouch" for the OP and thought that would be pretty clear that any statements were just generalisations and assumptions, but at the same time definitely don't want to be critical or bash the OP without good reason, I also rely heavily on r reviews and comments by people known to the seller and with established credibility.
My suggestion to him would be to make a performance video and get some more detailed pic's
And if possible find a well known member in his area and let them text drive for possible approval. Because it is a fairly pricey unknown saw ....

Sure thing.
I like the suggestion of having a local member meet with him, but he hasn't been back from what I can tell since the same night he posted it. Maybe he sold it locally and hasn't removed the ad yet from here or CL, seen that a time or two.
I'd like to run it, if I was closer to him I would have probably contacted him a long time ago, not to buy it, but just to say high to another guy who it appears is into saws.
