So have been working trees mostly trimming some small removals. Last yr j bought Sherrill tree 22ft pile saw that has. Hayauchi silky blade on it. That pole saw ripoed threw 7 or 8 in limbs and was stiff easy to maneuver and make cuts until branch fell in it broke 1st section. Now yesterday happened again on the 3rd section each is about 130 to replace now my 22ft saw is about 15ft2. I bought 3 jamision sticks I use with bull prunner . I see they have a silky Hayashi adapter and saw head that will fit the yellow poles but it just so flimsy when you put 3 together. I did buy ARS blade it cuts alright but not nearly as vicious as bigger silky blade. So question is there a better solution with yellow poles maybe a ft or a wood pole to help stiffen it up. Anybody found really good system.

Yep...stop dropping stuff on it. I did that to one of mine several years ago...now I am much more careful where I leave it.

Yeah, that might help though at first I thought it could have been a defective pole saw.

Wait! 22 feet long?! What, are you using it to pick up radio stations from Russia?

Ok, I was just joking, the way to prevent yor pole saw from working out is to work it back in.

No, wait, wrong page, wrong book, wrong subject.

Ok, here you go: Stop dropping stuff on yer pole saw!

Reminds me a joke:

Dude comes up to foreman missing a finger and the foreman asks how it got cut off so the guy shows him.

I use polesaws all the time. But 3 extention with the jamersons poles is just to much. Climb higher dude. I use corona blades and change them out weekly if im doing a lot of pruning.
I normally use a 6 ft pole with a 3 ft extention. Rarely two 6 ft. 3 6ft your wasteing your time, call in a climber.
I love the 21 ft silky, but never in the tree. It cost to much and if they even get dented your screwed

You can put an undercut in a branch at 22 feet with a pole saw?!?!?!?. You are a talent.
Silky has a "hook" on the bottom to cut through the bark. If you use it right, it won't tear things up. Not an ideal option, but sometimes a good option. I used mine yesterday to get rid of a second leader on a 25' tall 6" dbh tree. Ain't nobody but a squirrel climbing to the point you can cut that by hand. They have their place, but just like any other tool, they are not a universal solution.

I only have about a 14 foot pole, its telescoping, and sometimes use a step ladder to do what you just described. I guess I do, in fact, derive some sort of pleasure having to jump off the ladder to avoid being hit by falling branches.

I don't go breaking my pole like it was my job but tend to understand that it happens. Sometimes I just throw the thing cause I need to get out of my hands cause its pissing me off but in ten years I am on my third telescoping pole which I don't think is to bad considering that is about the only thing that gets broken with any regularity. They do take some punishment so I tend not invest to much in something like that although there are some really badassed poles on the market. I would like one, but man, I don't think I would ever come out of the depression once it got broke.

Patient: I broke my pole saw

Therapist: Its Ok, these things happen, its not your fault.

Patient: NO! NO! Not to me! It was MY polesaw and now look at it! Its broken and destroyed! You just don't understand! It is MY fault!

Disclaimer: I don't have a therapist, I am just being funny over the whole insane truth of everything including polesaws.

Anyway...

I'd be standing there, looking heartbrokenly at my broken 300 dollar pole , reach in my pocket and feel for my bullet, tears welling up, maybe a good temper tantrum?

A therapist might not be a bad idea.

Oh yeah it was! Not only is the money good but I can pretend to solve people's emotional problems but really string them on for miles and miles of circles. Haven't lost a patient yet!

I really not supposed to talk about that.

I can't BELIEVE your heavy hitting ass is messing around with sections! One of those yellow round telescoping jawns ain't nowhere as steep as those Silkies and makes the work flow better.

Closed with a saw head sounds to be around the right length for you and you can always use it just to snag something.

Who in the Hell actually cuts anything being 22 feet away from it? Geez, I can't even see that far.

Damn blade jumping and binding and getting stuck and the limb smackin ya in da head?

I use it for the sling shot too. Sometimes adjust the length an inch or two to get the right pull. If it breaks a new one is under 100, not bad for a useful tool accustomed to getting mangled with normal use.

Sections? Sections!!?? SECTIONS!!!???

Man, You ARE a Beastmaster. I really HATE those sections.

You just need to be more careful with your equipment. The Silkey pole saws are excellent.

Hey, listen, I think I finally figured out the whole troll thing. Its kinda weird.

Maybe even this thread was created by the administrators here just to keep us talking about the ****ING POLE SAW!

Hold on, I need a drink and will be right back to continue.

I have 2 8' and many times add my big shot poles I need 3 more 8 ' poles 40 feet is sweet but helps if you have a limb to slide it on at mid point :)

You know I love you Ropes. I'm glad to see you doing well. Love Danny too. Faggots.
