Even with the part numbers I am having a hard time trying to find a website to get them from. Would it be better going through a dealer? These are Stihl parts I am looking for.

You're Welcome.

I buy what I can from definitive dave and a few others who have treated me well.

Otherwise when searching ebay I check prices and make sure that the parts are shipped from the US. Often the seller claims to be in the US but the parts actually ship from China and take forever. Only fell for that once.

I have a very good Husky/Stihl dealer locally, so I by oem parts from him. NLA parts or used parts I buy wherever I can find them. My latest purchase was from Russia. There are parts available in Europe that are not available in North America. Then there is Kijiji/Craigslist and Ebay, plus the sellers/businesses mentioned above, plus the Trading Post here has members that specialize in used parts. A person can really spend a great deal of time scouring the net for difficult to find parts.

Switch to Husqvarna and you can buy all your parts online if you want to.
I once had all Stihl...and then I bought a Husqvarna.

Stihl was going to make me drive to a dealer if I just needed a dang bar nut. Didn't work. I am too independent, Don't get pushed around that easy.

The Stihls left. Husqvarnas took their place.

Stihl did me a favor. I like Husqvarna better. End of story.
