Oh man, definitely looks like it has seen more than two trees with how the piston looks. I have to ask now, but are we still looking at the same saw?o_O I didn't think it could possibly clean up that nice.

Last couple of pics, on to the next one

How that piston look's ? Here is a new one....
I don't know what your used to looking at but buddy, it don't get much better than that. I suppose you want a cylinder leak-down and a hydrocarbon reading before you believe? Because I can do it, but it the reading's are better than a new saw you going to give me 500 for it?

I believe you cleaned that saw up nice. Believe if you had done that first, you would not have gotten all that crap. You may want to keep it now.

I could show you pics of the piston in my rental 6421 and it looks better that that, but the best part is won't try to convince you it only cut up two trees.

No one here is saying it's not a good saw or that it's not in good shape, were all saying tell it to us straight and not be a used car salesman about.

My rental saws are great, but I won't attempt to convince anyone of its history, or that it's anything more than a hd rental unit

If anybody ever sees a 6401 rental for sale at HD within 2 hrs drive of Pittsburgh PA and you don't want it let me know. It would be appreciated. I have looked and never seem to find one.

I agree, if these pictures and video had been posted first, the saw would likely be sold by now.

But now?? Who knows.

No offence, but that's a new piston? I'm sorry, but I don't buy it. My ms361 piston that ran lean due to the carb, and has been run on a mill for most of it's life so far looks better than either of those cylinders you showed. I'm sorry if you find some of us rude or mean, but we are just saying that what we see is not you are trying to tell us. Many of us have countless hours under those covers and have seen much more than you could imagine. You have to remember you are talking to the best informed forum of all things saw and arborist related, trying to play it off as something else isn't going to work. Good luck to you on your sale.

That's just not right, if that's new you have some problems with your supplier .
I'm hoping that you mixed up your pictures , because that's far from new :omg:.
Maybe if you look closer you will see it better :picture:.

To most here blowing a saw off and then putting a bunch of grease on it does not equate to "freshening it up" as the video title says.
No need to check the compression since you already said the saw is no longer available/that you will be parting it out unless you want to have some accurate information for when you do that. When I saw the pictures I honestly thought oh look he's parting it out, good for him. But that thought left quickly after I saw the saw back together and all hosed down.
