Lets see, where to begin.....

4'x4'x1.3' or (16")=20.8 cu ft. 128/20.8=6.15

So for "only" $150 you get a sixth of a cord......LOL.......I guess someone has to pay for the fancy ad

Also how is 21 cubic feet a medium sized truck load? Even a short bed filled level would be between a third and a half a cord if stacked. His prices may attract a bunch of yuppies who burn for the "ambiance", but that's about it.

Agree. I would use electric heat. That ad is insane. Does he sell any?

One would assume a cord is priced better if .25 cord is $150 and .5 cord is $245.

I don't think it's unreasonable for seasoned wood that is delivered and stacked in an area that really doesn't have a winter.

The way I read the ad, is that "neatly stacked" applies to the 100 piece load for $150. How long would it take to stack that? 2 minutes?

It doesn't specify if they stack all of the loads regardless of size. It also doesn't list a price for the 1 cord load. I do agree though, it likely is a better bargain than the smaller loads. I would guess $350-$400 for a full cord. With oil the prices being low, and natural gas being reasonable its hard to believe people would pay $400 for a cord of wood.

Firewood is a local market. In my area low heating oil prices cap how much most will pay. The other issue is the market for low grade wood disappeared in the area due to a couple of pulp mills reducing output or closing altogether. The state of Mass also no longer recognizes wood as renewable so that cuts down on the demand from biomass plants. There usually is an uptick this time of year as the weather gets cold and folks realize they don't have enough dry wood. Next weeks cold snap will also drive up short term demand.

A few thoughts.

Is this guy a legitimate operation or is it a dude with a few cords of wood trying to get primo $ on what little wood he has? He has a lot of flash and buzz words in his add to simply move a commodity.

Some folks with money will buy the most expensive product as to them it must be "better" because it is more expensive.

Thats just crazy. An older guy i know sells birch firewood to folks around the lake near here, usually he sells a face cord of birch for $100 delivered in the same manner as above, and he almost feels bad about it. The guy in the ad sure spends a lot time trying to convince you how great of a deal youre getting lol.

I sell a 1/3 of a cord or what I call a face chord of oak for $85.00 , it is basically my 6.5” bed level with the top of the bed

That ad has some great marketing content. I’m guessing many of his customers choose him as he presents himself much better than other sellers you see on CL.
I agree.
To me it's much like blue ray or the next greatest best thing, it looks really awesome when I see the previews for it, but if you stop and think your watching the previews on your "crappy old setup". Basically he still just another craigslist seller:buttkick:.
One of my old bosses told me I was such a diva, I said what did you expect, you found me on craigslist:laughing:.

Maybe I'll use his line:

Hmmm.... seems like we are talking firewood, not making furniture an endeavor I would really suck at.

WOW...wow...wow. I barely could make it through the whole video without puking. Once the wood was getting washed, miniature scissors cutting loose slivers, toothbrush, sandpaper, etc. So over the top it has to be fake. There is no way it's real. No one would pay $1200 for a couple sticks of wood. Pretty ridiculous

"Once they see our the quality"
and yes your attention to detail .
What I don't want to knock is these jokers are doing it while many on here are just sitting around laughing, something to be said for making an effort, but I'm still going to laugh at the attention to detail part .
