People only read an hear what they want to anyway . I never paid any mind to all the marks when I read . Most of the time the marks are just a way to twist the reading so it can't be understood . I seen stuff that is read with all numbers never had a problem

I text so much these days I find myself using all sorts of sort cuts. I could care less if someone forgets a few ...,,,!!;:'""+-&$#@//+?? Anyone that wants to grade my education level on a chainsaw forum isn't really thinking right.....

I side with the poor grammer guys. They are doing the best they can to participate with less than perfect English skills. Proper language is routinely used by one class to identify and degrade another class. Proper language is usually designed for clarity of communication but often enough it seems to have oddities that are engineered to confound those who don't make a study of it. Also it's kinda entertaining to try to sort out.

I've never used a phone to text a message in my life. Never felt a need to learn how or do it. I've talked to some contractors and such like a CL buyer on a phone, and they'll ask me to text them a message on how to get to my house.

I just tell um I don't text, but I can tell them how to get here. They say oh okay, like that will be okay I guess. :dizzy:

English is not my first language but I understand most of it. I can not write in slang. Not because I don’t want to but because I can’t. This makes my sentence structure rigid and less interesting in my opinion. This is not a formal forum and even if I don’t even understand half of what is written in slang I appreciate reading it and hopefully will someday end up understanding most of it.

Your sentence structure is great and very easy to understand.

I'll throw in my rant...It drives me nutz to hear the mispronunciation of the big cat jaguar.

The word is JAG-U-AR

Not JAG-WIRE.

All those NFL football players in Jacksonville, FL have to put up with commentators calling them the Jag-Wires...

There is one word that absolutely drives me up a wall. Like. I guess I don't mind its use when describing affection for a person or object. Or when it's used to indicate similarity between to things. However, it is more commonly used in place of words such as "said", "did", "thought", well you get the idea.

6th grade was the last one I legally completed. Maybe I'm just getting old.

When I sold on fleabay I would type out my description and then read it to my wife for any corrections. She is now deceased so I don't have her help. I just trudge along and hope for the best.
Even though I am guilty of several of the deviations from correct grammar I got a good laugh out of the post. Tom
