I tweaked my 20" stock bar on my Husqvarna 562xp. I am looking for some opinions on a replacement bar and chain.
I typically only cut firewood in fairly clean conditions. I cut about 5 or 6 cords per year.

Thanks in advance

I like the Stihl RS yellow chain. I don't swap bars much. Usually run OEM or Oregon so I can't be much help. I haven't tried any others yet.

I got an Oregon power match and 2 chains for $40, seems to work pretty good.

Have the same saw and cut about the same amount each year. Have been real happy with the sugihara 20" bar with a stihl 3/8, 0.50 semi chisel.

Tried few different bars 20-28” on my 562 with a muffler mod. It’ll pull and oil a 28” well for a 60cc saw as stated, but I would stick with a 20” in hardwood. It balances well at that length and if I need more bar, I grab a larger saw.

I run a 24in Tsumura .058 3/8 on mine. Bought it with the Husky 24, & it was a little nose heavy. The Tsumura 24 is nearly 4oz. lighter & balances perfectly. It has only a muff mod. & pulls the 24 very well in Oak, Beech, Sugar Maple, Black Cherry, & Honey Locust. Yes, I am using a full comp chain, some Stihl & some Oregon.

Dear honorable gentleman. I have just arrived to this splendid forum, seeking humbly your vise advice…. Longtime watcher, first time poster.

So I am not professional; I am homeowner with hungry wood burning stove, some land with orchard and some minor activity in my surroundings. I am standard hobbyist.

So far, I have collected several pieces of cheapo hardware to serve for my needs. Husky 340, 345, vintage Dolmar-Sachs 100 for the smaller stuff and semi-serious Husky 262XP.

I am fortunate enough, to be able to upgrade now. Target is to get serious slicer in small package. I will eventually sell all of my old junk and go for (wife story) for „one saw plan“ solution. Decision was made, Husky 562XP.

Local dealership, my body build and the work I do; also my experience with the brand, clear choice.

Now for the 562XP gear – to what chain, bar combo in 20” should I go? Earlier on on this website, it was common understanding that the Techlite bar is THE bar for 562. But here, in this particular thread, no mentioning. No longer relevant? Techlite is locally available.

Also, my dealer just stocked in X-Force lineup of bars and those are promoted as the new go-to bars.

Chains – how about the X-Force chains?

I do lots of soft wood (pine, spruce – total 60%) some hard wood (Oak, beech, walnut – total 30%) some orchard work – about the remaining 10%.

Question. Shall I choose one set for dirty work (sand, ground dirt) and clean work (slicing clean logs for my wood burner) – swapping those as per my conditions? Then what is your recommendation for each scenario?

THANK YOU!!!

Choose a 20" bar semi-chisel for dirty wood and full chisel for clean wood. I live on a sand hill and only run full chisel or square ground on my 562, just swipe off the dirt. Techlite is a nice bar, rather run a Cannon. Laser, Frostbite and Oregon seem to be bars sold by most dealers around here.

I run a full chisel on a 20" Cannon bar, but Cannon's are a heavy bar. Techlite is a nice bar, semi-chisel for dirty wood, full for clean. Area here is mostly sand and I run full chisel only, just swipe sand off. Techlite, Laser, Frostbite and mostly Oregon are sold in this area. Tree service friend of mine runs Techlite on 4 T540's and never heard him complain about them, he also only runs full chisel.

Total Super or Sugi Hara if money isn't a concern. I like the light weight Sugi personally. The saw will pull 28, but I wouldn't go over 24, and would probably stick with the 20.

28 on a 60cc saw?! They must really run a lot better than a MS360/361/362.

I have heard amazing things about them.

I did actually go fondle one

I’ve ran both and there’s a night and day difference between a 562 vs a 361, I’ve cut 5’ Doug fir with mine pulling a 32 with no issues.

Ok. Thanks. So nice bar, such as the techlite, two kinds of chain, semi and full chisel.

There’s three types round which has chisel and semi, then there’s square chisel

To the bars and chains I can’t comment as I’ve never ran either most of the time I run a sugihara bar on mine with semi skip square chains.
