I don't like how the metal comes over at the sides. It looks cool but might hinder unloading/loading unless you are using the thing as a backboard practically.
I need to get one of these for my truck though. Several close calls lately.

Well even though it is a 2011 with 54,000 miles, it is a WORK TRUCK and appearance is not an important issue with me. I don't like things that look like crap but after painting it looks OK. I generally put about 3,000 miles a year on the truck. With 6.2 liter gas and towing 4.30 rear end it does handle a lot of weight easily. Here is the only vain thing I did.

Had a friend of a friend ask if he could cut some wood out my brush piles before I burned them I said sure help yourself's. They show up with two pickups one was brand new F-250 with the in-transit's in the windows. I pulled a few logs out for them with the tractor and loader and said to the one I sure would watch that electric rear window in that new $50,000 dollar pickup. I went on my way to feed the cows and load a semi with round bales. When I came back buy a few hours later that electric rear window was broken out. That load of wood got expensive real quick.

Good story.

I cannot fathom how much people are spending for pick up trucks and then, few actually get used for hauling, certainly not firewood.

It's been quite a few years now, but my Dad ordered Suburban's frequently. Even back then half ton Suburban's could not even be ordered with truck tires, all were passenger car tires. Suburban's of today look like station wagons driven by soccer moms.:dumb2::wtf:

Had a guy show up wanting a few wheelbarrow loads of firewood for some outdoor party.

Sure, there's a pile out back, just load up what you need.

"In my truck?!"

Uh, yeah.

"I'm not putting firewood in my truck, are you crazy?"

Oh well, no firewood for you! Haha.

He acted like it was suggested to load manure in the trunk of a Cadillac car or something.

His truck was a plain Jane F150. Steel wheels, 6 cylinder.
Granted it was fairly new, but why have a truck if you aren't going to use it?

Pretty funny VF. So just how did he expect the firewood to get transported if he didn't want to put it in his vehicle?

I've had people wanting campfire wood fill the trunk and throw the rest in the back seat.:dizzy:

The way your stacking, looks like you could have had 3 more pipes on the load.:happybanana:
Funny thing...I left two pipes behind because I had to go over the Goldstar Bridge in Groton where there are usually 2-3 troopers stationed Waiting for an idiot like me. I didn’t want to get greedy!

I guess i'm not typical. My brand new F150 (roll up windows, rubber floors, AM radio) went into the bush on the day I got it, and came out loaded with 1/2 cord of wood and a number of dents. I didn't buy it to look at.

Dents add character and are inevitable. In fact, everyone who buys a new truck should hit a fender or side of the truck bed with a hammer to get that first dent out of the way.
